Sissy’s Road

Yesterday we went down to the Cracker Barrel by the interstate and then across to the bank and on into town – as we went over the interstate little; well, getting bigger now, granddaughter started talking about “Sissy’s Road”, it being the road we used to take when her little baby sister was in the hospital down that road and we’d be going to see her – breaks our heart because we don’t make that trip any more because she’s not there any more but she’s not with us either – never quite sure what to say so just told her she wasn’t there any more; she didn’t say much to me, not really sure why but after she got home mom said she told her – and has said this before, but, again, not to me – that she knows that Sissy’s in heaven and has her own road up there now – I’m still amazed at how much she knows and remembers her – it’s been over 2 yrs. now and she was only 2-1/2 then

I'm a transplant, born up north but raised in the middle, now I'm down here where you don't see too many snowflakes; I'll probably post just about as often (here at least)
