How many more?

I think I’m getting tired of this. My mother-in-law’s new husband (does that make him my step-father-in-law?)’s niece died the other week. She just got tired of living. She was 35, never married, no children, lived in a trailer on her parents property. She always had a problem with her weight but she was very pretty, though you could never convince her so. I know you can have too much self-esteem but you truly can have too little and she was a prime example; so, so sad.

So unlike the other one; our old barber, Indian enthusiast. He could regale you with stories for hours. I used to love to go with my guys to get their hair cut just to listen to him; unfortunately, I enjoyed it more than they did so they quit and I couldn’t very well go without them but I’ve missed it. He also had a pond out back – his shop was on his country property – that he had coon races on but the kids could go fishing. I’ll never forget the time middle son (the married one) was fishing for bream, got one and a bass had him on the other end and came up with it – 2 for 1!. They also used to go camping at his creek. A lot of wonderful memories at his place. He’d known for a while it was coming but rather than take drastic measures that would put him down for a while he just continued to live until the end not even telling his own sons; they only found out after it finally took him down, but what a wonderful way. He’ll be missed.

But how sad the young girl couldn’t have had a life like his. so so sad.

I'm a transplant, born up north but raised in the middle, now I'm down here where you don't see too many snowflakes; I'll probably post just about as often (here at least)
